30 Day knitting challenge: day 7

Day 7: Your least favorite?

I’ve done quite a lot of commission knitting, so I’ve come across a lot of things that are not my taste at all.  My least favourite was probably a XXL plain brown cardigan…. sooooo boring!

knitterswithattitude:

On friday, one week before comiccon, I remembered this scene from bob’s burgers. I had to go for it. So I worked really hard with the help of espphoto to get this done in a week. It was knit plain and then the yellow lettering was duplicate stitched on top to save time.

The color chart is posted here and can be used on any sweater (or anything) that’s more than 48 stitches across. There’s no pattern for the sweater because it was improvised. It’s pretty cool to know that I can make a body first and then calculate a sleeve cap to perfectly fit in the armscye without any problems. Set in sleeves are my favorite patterns to draft and seam.

I’ll post some photos of the con later this week.

30 Days of Knitting. Day 6:

Day 6: What is your favorite piece that you’ve knit?

This is a hard question, I’m very critical of everything I’ve ever made.

Maybe my first ever pair of socks, or the giant crochet bunny rabbit that I made for an exhibition.  I’m rather proud of both of those :)

mulders:

you would think the scariest thing about the x-files would be the monsters or the demons or the ghosts or whatever but no, the scariest thing is actually the group of old white men who control everything and i think that’s really telling

30 Day Knitting Challenge. Day 5:

Day 5: How long did it take from the time your learned how to knit, to finish your first project?

My childhood projects…. MONTHS!
I remember knitting at least 3 or 4 hats one summer holidays in my teens though, so that’s not too bad.  My first cardigan took about 3 months!

30 day knitting challenge. Day 4:

Day 4: how did you learn to knit?

My nan taught me when I was little. I was soooo rubbish but she had the best patience ever. I knitted on and off as a child but got properly into it at 16 or 17.

30 day knitting challenge. Day 3

Day 3: Do you have any other WIPs (works in progress)?

Don’t we all?  I have a cardigan and a pair of socks on the go as well.  One day i’ll finish ALL the projects!
